Job summary

Hillsboro Health Imaging Department seeks an Imaging Technologist to perform radiographic examinations under physician orders and supervision. You will operate in CT and general radiology, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety in a busy clinical setting.

The role requires ARRT/IEMA credentials, BLS or willingness to obtain within 30 days, and the ability to train staff and students. Full-time position with patient-centered care in Hillsboro, IL.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 2-year certified Radiology Technologist School program.
  • ARRT and IEMA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Train new Imaging staff and Imaging students.
  • Produce quality radiographs using correct technique and positioning per department standards.
  • Screen patients for contrast media and make decisions per screening criteria.
  • Competent in general radiology including fluoroscopy, surgery, CT, and bone density.
  • Perform charging and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Clean and visually inspect imaging equipment for safety.
  • Safely transport patients using assisting devices as needed.
  • Maintain orderly work areas and understand radiologic equipment limits.

Job description

The Imaging Technologist performs examinations under the direct clinical supervision of the Radiologist, as qualified, per physician’s orders to supply reliable and accurate information to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions within the profession’s standards of practice. Imaging Technologists will also be competent in CT.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Train new Imaging staff and Imaging students.
  • Produce quality radiographs using correct technique and positioning as described in the department standard of routine views, consistent with the patient’s ability.
  • Screen all patients who are to receive contrast media and make appropriate decisions regarding the contrast according to screening criteria.
  • Competent in general radiology including fluoroscopy, surgery, CT, and bone density as well as general office duties.
  • Competent in charging and other clerical duties.
  • Performs cleaning and visual inspection for safety of imaging equipment.
  • Safely transport patients using assisting devices as needed.
  • Maintain orderly condition of assigned work areas.
  • Understand the use and limitations of radiologic equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accept reassignment to other units as necessary.
Professional Requirements
  • Completes and maintains all required education and/or training requirements.
  • Complies with HIPPA regulations and maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follows and maintains all lawful safety, health requirements and regulations and follows protocols for required protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promptly reports safety issues, job-related injury or illness, near misses, etc. in SafetyZone.
  • Follows Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of job and organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and/or Experience
  • Graduate of 2-year certified Radiology Technologist School program.
Certificates And Licenses
  • ARRT and IEMA required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Salary Description
