Job summary

Advocate Health, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Imaging Department, seeks an Imaging Patient Assistant to support patient transport, exam room preparation, and clerical/PACS tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with prep for imaging procedures, coordinating with radiologists and technologists, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Role requires basic life support certification on hire, GED or HS diploma, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• IV insertion and venipuncture as needed.
• Excellent communication with patients, staff and physicians.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including email and systems.
• Able to follow directions and work well independently with technologists and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in prep for exams and transport between rooms.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions and check schedules.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment.
• Greet patients and respond to routine information requests; manage calls and scheduling.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports/images to staff/patients and manage health records.
• Document observations and communicate needs to the care team.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning per department needs.
• Screen and document MRI implants as required.
