Job summary

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute in Wesley Chapel is seeking an Imaging Assistant I to support imaging areas. The role observes and assists in imaging workflows, ensuring patient safety and accurate handling of requisitions and supplies.

This PRN position offers a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm schedule with education and career growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement and leadership development programs, plus health, retirement, and work-life benefits.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Transports bed, stretcher, and wheelchair patients in a safe, professional manner, following HIPAA and handoff compliance.
• Uses double identifiers on every patient per The Joint Commission regulations for patient safety.
• Orders and receives weekly radiology supplies.
• Picks up and delivers requisitions, specimens, and other materials within the facility.
• Assists with stocking and cleaning of rooms, puts away supplies correctly.
• Reports faulty equipment, hazardous conditions and/or incidents to supervisor for follow up.
• Returns equipment to designated storage area and maintains transport equipment. Cleans, deodoriz es, and disinfects equipment as needed.
• Maintains O2/suction supplies as required per facility.
• Delivers mail interdepartmentally as needed.
• Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission statement and strategic imperatives.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
