Job summary

OU Health Imaging Student PRN in Adult Ultrasound is seeking a student to assist in diagnostic cardiovascular and radiologic procedures under supervision. You will prepare patients, operate equipment, and help maintain departmental records.

Current enrollment in an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technology program and current BLS are required, with a focus on professional patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technology program.
  • BLS certification must be current upon hire.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to operate equipment in the primary specialty.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in diagnostic, interventional and/or surgical procedures using cardiovascular or radiologic technologies.
  • Prepares patient for procedure.
  • Operates equipment in the assigned specialty under supervision.
  • Maintains department records and supplies.
  • Ensures procedure area is clean and ready for the next patient.

Job Description
General Description

Under immediate supervision, performs diagnostic cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology procedures as directed by physician and approved by instructor/preceptor.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing diagnostic, interventional and/or surgical procedures using a variety of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, techniques and practices used in the invasive and/or non-invasive care setting.
  • Prepares patient for procedure.
  • Under immediate supervision, performs procedures using equipment technologies, techniques and practices associated with primary specialty for which the student is being trained in accordance with established clinical practice standards, guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintains department records, reports and files.
  • Orders and stocks all supplies and ensures procedure area is clean and ready for the next patient.
General Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.

Currently enrolled in an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technology program.
