Job summary

UPMC McKeesport is hiring a fulltime Imaging Services Tech Assistant to support imaging departments. The role involves patient transport, exam preparation, and coordination under supervision of a registered technologist, with a daylight schedule Monday–Friday and occasional Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires Clerical and computer experience.
• Requires Communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Transports patient to and from unit as needed.
• Assists with IV catheter placement and follows GFR guidelines.
• Assists with invasive procedure tray setup and courier specimens to lab.
• Practices MRI safety and radiation safety protocols.
• Schedules exams into RIS and reschedules as needed; contacts patients.
• Assists technologist with patient care and flow as instructed.
• Verifies patient identity with two identifiers and prepares for exams.
• Documents history and reviews physician orders; seeks additional information when needed.
