Job summary

The Medical Imaging Registered Nurse at Phelps Health provides direct patient care within the medical imaging department, collaborating with technologists and radiologists. The role requires Missouri RN licensure, ACLS, and at least two years of RN experience; imaging nursing experience is preferred, with BSN preferred.

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, peri-procedural care, coordination of care, throughput optimization, and patient/family teaching.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a registered nurse required.
• One year of imaging nursing experience preferred.
• Current Missouri RN licensure or Compact State required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments and history relevant to imaging procedures.
• Coordinates with technologists and radiologists to document IV access and contrast use.
• Administers medications and peri-procedural care following physician order.
• Provides patient and family teaching and ensures safety during procedures.
• Documents all care and quality monitoring items to support compliance.
• Maintains exam rooms, prepares supplies, and assists with scheduling and policy updates.
