Requirements include graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, BLS, current Texas MRT license, and ARRT-R registration. Ability to lift and assist patients is needed. May participate in weekend/on-call coverage and cross-location support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• BLS or Higher Life Support certification required.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
• Registered Radiology Technologist by ARRT-R, required.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiography (x-ray) exams on patients, ensuring safety and quality of images.
• Enter and monitor patient data.
• Perform quality assurance on radiology equipment.
• Assist with initial/renewal applications for ACR or other accreditation.
• Identify and report accidents, complaints or equipment malfunctions to department management.
• Take emergency call within the department and may work weekends or float to other locations as needed.
• May administer breath alcohol tests or urine drug screens.
• May assist with patient registration tasks such as verifying insurance and collecting payments.
• Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
• Promote professional growth and meet continuing education requirements.
• Demonstrate commitment to compassionate, personalized care.
