Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an Image Quality Intern in Salt Lake City to work with senior engineers on advanced image quality solutions for surgical imaging products. You will refine image processing algorithms, participate in imaging labs, and gather feedback from imaging scientists.

The internship emphasizes hands-on design, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Successful candidates are pursuing relevant engineering or science degrees, have Python familiarity, and can

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Life Sciences.
Familiarity with Python programming.
Sophomore year GPA: 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
Returning to school Fall 2027.
Willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT for at least 10 weeks full-time this summer.
Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
Relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities

Refine and tune image processing algorithms to improve image contrast, clarity, and detail.
Participate in cadaver and/or live animal imaging labs to collect data for algorithm evaluation.
Survey image quality scientists and clinical imaging specialists for feedback on results.
Document design with technical rigor.
Present image quality design results to team management.
Assist in specification, design, verification, and validation of system features and sub-systems related to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization.
