Urban Sky seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to own the design, development, and fielding of advanced electro‑optical imaging systems aboard stratospheric balloon platforms. You will integrate optics, sensors, edge compute, 2‑axis stabilization, and thermal systems into compact, flight-ready packages.

You’ll contribute across the lifecycle from requirements and rapid prototyping to flight testing and production.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience in electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software for complex mechanical designs.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFx concepts.

Responsabilidades

• Translate requirements into ruggedized payload designs for diverse customers.
• Design robust payload structures and perform flight-load testing validation.
• Select materials suitable for stratospheric conditions balancing strength and weight.
• Develop 2-axis gimbal systems including mechanical design and control architecture.
• Create thermal management solutions and validate with thermal models.
