Actalent in Seattle is seeking a Senior Electro-Optical Payload Engineer to architect, design, integrate, and test advanced electro-optical payloads for a space-based intelligence platform. This role focuses on imaging payload concepts, integration strategies, and ground to on-orbit testing.

You will collaborate with payload, constellation, image processing, and satellite operations teams to optimize payload performance throughout the lifecycle and help build a new optical test facility for

Competenze

• 10+ years in engineering roles with imaging or optical systems, space experience preferred.
• Hands-on lab work with optical test and metrology instruments.
• Strong understanding of optical image formation and detector phenomenology.
• Experience defining and verifying requirements for optical systems.
• Familiarity with satellite payload interfaces and CONOPs.

• Develop integration, verification, and test strategies for electro-optical payloads.
• Design and maintain optical test facilities and benches.
• Support payload integration on satellites and resolve technical issues.
• Lead end-to-end validation from test planning to execution.
• Define requirements for GSE and test infrastructure.
