Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking an experienced press operator in the Houston area to operate high-resolution, variable print proprietary imaging equipment and prepare jobs for printing.

You will maintain production logs, set up and release jobs from the print queue, and adjust color quality to customer specifications while monitoring output for accuracy. Responsibilities include ordering supplies and maintaining inventory to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of HP A2200 Page Wide Digital Press setup and operation
• Ability to set up, operate, adjust and maintain equipment and diagnose problems
• Strong understanding of color theory and color corrections for customer specs
• Excellent knowledge of file manipulation and digital print formats
• Knowledge of feed rollers, tensioning, timing and inline finishing per job specs
• May train junior operators on corrective adjustments
• Analytical approach to symptoms, causes and remedies when adjustments are needed

Responsibilities

• Operate high resolution, variable print proprietary imaging equipment
• Program and prepare jobs for printing
• Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests
• Setup, program and release jobs from print queue
• Adjust image position, color quality and resolution, perforations and folds as required
• Monitor output quality for accuracy and image quality
• Order supplies (ink, chemicals, blankets, rollers, paper, tabs) as needed
• Maintain inventory levels
