Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking an Imaging Assistant to join the Imaging Services team. You will support Radiologists, providers, and clinical staff by helping manage the flow of medical images and reports, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Comfortable learning and working with multiple technology platforms and imaging systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Collaborative team member with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day imaging department operations (phones, correspondence, supplies, scheduling).
• Route, store, retrieve, and distribute clinical images and reports via PACS, Epic, PowerShare.
• Monitor imaging worklists; assist radiologists and staff with image access and workflow.
• Troubleshoot software/hardware issues; submit IT help tickets; minimize workflow interruptions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to providers, patients, and colleagues.
