Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day imaging department operations (phones, correspondence, supplies, scheduling).
  • Route, store, retrieve, and distribute clinical images and reports via PACS, Epic, PowerShare.
  • Monitor imaging worklists; assist radiologists and staff with image access and workflow.
  • Troubleshoot software/hardware issues; submit IT help tickets; minimize workflow interruptions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to providers, patients, and colleagues.

WakeMed is hiring an Imaging Assistant to join our Imaging Services team. In this role, you’ll support Radiologists, providers, and clinical staff by helping manage the flow of medical images and reports while ensuring a seamless experience for both patients and healthcare teams. Working behind the scenes and on the front lines, you’ll play an important role in keeping imaging operations running efficiently and accurately.


What you’ll do


  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Imaging department, including answering phones, managing correspondence, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, and other administrative tasks.

  • Manage the routing, storage, retrieval, and distribution of clinical images and reports through systems such as PACS, Epic, and PowerShare.

  • Monitor imaging worklists and assist Radiologists and clinical staff with image access, viewing, and workflow coordination.

  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, submit IT helpdesk tickets, and help resolve technical concerns to minimize workflow interruptions.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting providers, patients, and colleagues with questions and imaging-related requests.


Who you are


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least one year of customer service experience required.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
