Job summary

Davis Unlimited Information Technologies, Inc (DUIT) seeks an experienced hardware technician to join our IT team in Maryland. You will deploy images via MDT, configure workstations and servers, and support end-users across sites. A background with imaging tools, Windows 7/10, and Active Directory is essential, with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

8-hour shifts from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is high school or GED with 4+ years of experience and 8570 Certification.
• Preferred Security+ certification is a plus.
• Experience deploying images and configuring workstations and peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Deploy computer images to new and recycled computers using MDT servers.
• Fulfill equipment requests and configure workstations, servers, and peripherals.
• Train site personnel in imaging tools and manage imaging workflows.
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware, servers, printers, and teleconferencing equipment.
• Maintain fiber optic modems, cables, and telephone systems as needed.
• Ensure image benches are operational and report any issues to management.

What You Will Get to Do:

The hardware technician will perform the following duties:

• Utilize MDT servers to deploy the latest computer image to new and recycled computers.
• Fulfill equipment requests for newly imaged workstations according to daily work priorities.
• Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Train site personnel in proper use of imaging tools.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
• Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
• Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexer, fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems.
• Ensure image benches are operational; alert the proper management team if operational status is lost.
• Highly skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
• Well-versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus and patches.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
• Manage time and priorities effectively.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in working with end-users remotely.
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
• Familiar with Active Directory security and policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to drive company vehicle.
• Must be available to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., as determined by management.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
