Job summary

Corning Inc. in the United States seeks an Engineer – Imaging & Diagnostics to architect, assemble, deploy, and operate custom optical and sensor-based diagnostic systems for investigative work in laboratory and manufacturing environments.

You will integrate imaging tools with sensors and flow control, perform image and data analysis, document findings, and drive continuous improvements. Travel up to 50% may be required, with relocation assistance for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with focus on measurements.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, deploy, and use custom optical and sensor-based diagnostic systems for investigative work in lab and manufacturing environments
• Integrate imaging tools with secondary sensors, motion equipment, and flow control systems to support investigations
• Perform image processing, data analysis, and statistical analysis to interpret results and support process improvement
• Conduct hands-on experimental work in lab, engineering, and manufacturing settings
• Support troubleshooting and investigative work independently or as part of a team to meet business objectives
• Communicate project status, findings, and recommendations through clear documentation, reports, and presentations
• Maintain laboratory equipment, process equipment, and materials needed for ongoing diagnostic work
