AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Radiology Scheduling Coordinator to manage workflow across modalities, ensure accurate appointments, and communicate effectively with radiologists and staff. The role emphasizes patient-centered service and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating special procedures, supporting front-desk operations, and contributing to process improvements while maintaining confidentiality and high service standards.

Job Description:

Shift: Monday - Friday830a-5pNo Holidays/No CallSpanish speaking preferred

• Coordinates workflow for all radiology modalities, continuously reviewing patient wait times, satisfaction, and communication with radiologists.
• Ensures accuracy of scheduled appointments and proper outpatient preparation for radiographic tests.
• Collaborates and communicates successfully with entities outside the hospital and acts as a positive representative of the hospital to the community.
• Schedules special procedures with physicians and physician office staff via phone and fax.
• Reviews tentative schedules and consults with Modality Leader, Lead Nurse, Admissions, radiologists, and others to address scheduling impacts.
• Consults with Director, Lead RN, Radiologist, and Modality Leaders regarding schedule conflicts, concerns, or requests outside established policy.
• Communicates with designated departments for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted and send reservations within established timeframes.
• Monitors, provides feedback, develops, and implements process improvement workflows with Director approval.
• Assists Radiology Director, Manager, Supervisor, Leads, and Staff Members with projects and duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Provides front-desk support to minimize wait times and resolves customer service issues by checking in patients and addressing front-line service concerns.
• Performs records release of radiology films and reports to patients or other medical facilities, ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective oral and written communication skills with customer service skills. [Required]
• High level of attention to detail and organization. [Required]
• Must be able to use own judgment and initiative to resolve immediate and urgent problems and expedite patient care as needed. [Required]
• Must be able to interact and deal with challenging situations in dealing with patients and families in a tactful, calm and professional manner that invites cooperation and communication. [Required]
• Ability to maintain required level of confidentiality. [Required]
• Knowledge of medical terminology. [Required]
• Ability to type and perform order entry on HIS System, as well as retrieve information. [Required]
• Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of PACS preferred. [Preferred]
• Knowledge of PowerScribe [Preferred]
• Knowledge of PowerShare [Preferred]
• Patient transport knowledge [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ radiology services or equivalent medical office experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

$17.28 - $27.65
