Job summary

Core Systems in Poway, California designs and manufactures rugged computers and displays in a 75,000+ square‑foot facility with on‑site engineering and MIL‑Spec testing. The Technician will image, burn‑in, test, and document configurations to meet customer requirements and controlled work instructions, working with Production, Engineering, and Quality to release qualified systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in computer manufacturing or IT hardware support.
• Experience imaging computers or installing operating systems.
• Basic understanding of BIOS/UEFI, hardware, and OS.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and document results.
• Attention to detail and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, image, configure, test, and burn-in computers, servers, and electronics.
• Load operating systems and customer-specific images; verify versions and hashes.
• Configure BIOS/UEFI and firmware per instructions; maintain configuration control.
• Record test results, troubleshoot failures, and re-image as needed.
• Maintain production documentation; ensure traceability of serials, image versions, and tests.
• Support production with schedules and customer configurations; participate in process improvements.
• Follow ECOs/ECNs and controlled work instructions; report discrepancies.
