The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare Network via the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist (Information Systems) to support Clinical Engineering.

This role emphasizes lifecycle management of networked medical devices, HL7 and DICOM interfaces, and cybersecurity aligned with VA standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, network administration, and coordinating with multiple service lines to ensure patient safety and system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle management of network equipment including switches, servers, routers and related infrastructure for networked medical devices and systems
• Completes routine and complex assignments identifying and troubleshooting VLAN configuration, IP addressing, sub-netting, HL7, DICOM, ACL and network security
• Coordinates with Facilities Management Service, Office of Information Technology, Sterile Processing Service and Environmental Management Service
• Utilizes advanced network test equipment and software including tracers, spectrum analyzers, traffic monitors and server software
• Manages, troubleshoots and maintains complete networks, databases and servers including biomedical information systems
• Implements and plans for new technologies including diagnostic modalities, network management and virtual data centers
• Designs and manages network incident response following VA guidelines
