Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking an Imaging Aide/Patient Service Specialist to support both technical and nursing staff around imaging procedures. Responsibilities include patient transport, registration, insurance verification, IV setup, and room turnover to maintain smooth workflow.

The role involves acting as the order liaison for payer information, assisting with education for physician offices, and helping with compliance and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• One to two years of experience in a clinical setting is required.
• OSHA training must be completed annually.
• TB testing required.
• I.V. setup skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration responsibilities, including insurance verification, pre-certification and obtaining necessary signatures and authorizations for billing and release of medical information.
• Provide education and training to physician offices and patient service specialists on scheduling/registration and insurance related issues regarding orders.
• Transport patient to imaging procedure room and position on table; assist during procedure; assist patients in department (meals, restrooms).
• After procedure, move patient to staging area, discontinue IV, document clinical information in RIS; prepare room for next case and stage patients for imaging.
• Assist nursing staff with scheduling and verifying patients daily; assist during invasive procedures; monitor patient condition and report any issues; maintain stock and temperature logs.
