Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH is seeking an Imaging Assistant PRN to support the Imaging Department across X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and other modalities. You will prep and screen patients and assist technologists during imaging exams.

This role emphasizes patient care, accuracy in transcription, and coordination with medical staff, with opportunities to gain experience in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent organization/time management skills.
• Experience in hospital environment a plus.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists in verifying patient identity and general patient mobility and positioning in the exam room.
• Assist patients, families and friends as needed; escorts patients to correct locations for imaging studies.
• Facilitates communication between the Imaging Services Department and members of the medical staff and other hospital departments.
• Ensures quality care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
• You will assist with the provision of all clerical services in the department.
• Proactively address patient satisfaction issues related to delays.
• Review written orders and accurately transcribes into the electronic medical record system, entering appropriate history as written on the order.
