Valley Health is seeking a regular full-time Radiology department tech assistant to support patient care and clerical tasks within Medical Imaging. The role includes monitoring patient holding areas to ensure safety and assisting with image retrieval and distribution.
You will work with PACS, handle processing, importing and CD burning, and support multiple imaging modalities. A high school diploma, basic computer knowledge, and BLS certification are required; hospital experience preferred.

Department RADIOLOGY - MAIN DEPT - 207040 Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift Pay Range $17.00 - $20.40
Provides patient care and clerical services for the Medical Imaging department. Requires provision of minimal patient care and observation by monitoring patient holding areas to ensure patient safety and needs. Assists to retrieve, manipulate and distribute images from the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for all customers. Provides processing, importing and CD burning for patient care needs. Performs additional department tasks and duties as required or needed. Able to work as a tech assistant in different modalities as needed.
High School Diploma or GED with computer keyboard knowledge preferred Medical Terminology preferred or completed on the job.
Previous hospital and/or health care experience preferred with telecommunication skills or medical office experience.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required * * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Competent to effectively interact/communicate with patients of various age groups to include infant, toddler, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Effectively interact/communicate with physicians and other health care professionals. Medical Terminology required or completed on the job. Ability to recognize patient needs and notify appropriate personnel. Proficiency in the use of Windows based PC environment is required. Must be an organized 'detail-type' person, able to work without direct supervision. Must be able to work weekdays/weekends/Holidays any shift.
