Job description

Position: Executive Director

Type: Full time

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Salary Range: $90,000 - $101,000

Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm

Manager on Duty Weekend Rotation: 10am-2pm

Responsibilities

• Serve as a visionary, communicating the community’s direction and goals, including business and sales plans.
• Act as the “Management Mechanic,” keeping the community’s operations running smoothly for residents and staff.
• Act as a “Resident Receptor,” anticipating and managing resident satisfaction needs.
• Operate as an “Entrepreneurial Steward,” managing the community like an independent business.

Qualifications

• Age 21 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one of the following:
• Two‑year degree in human services, psychology, sociology, nursing, health‑care administration, public administration, or related field with two years of experience.
• Four‑year degree in a related field with at least one year of experience.
• Master’s degree in a related field with at least one year of experience.
• Knowledge of resident care requirements.
• Knowledge and adherence to applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to maintain or supervise financial and other records.
• Ability to direct the work of others and provide leadership for measurable growth.
• Good character and reputation for personal integrity.
• Read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Positive and energetic attitude, love for residents.
• Computer skills for printing documents and entering data.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel for brief periods.
• Ability to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable sitting at a desk for six to eight hours a day in a primarily sedentary role.
• Criminal clearance required.
• Clean driving record as per insurance carrier’s policy.
