Job Overview:

A CT/XR Technologist is responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners and Digital X-ray equipment to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes. Key duties include:

  1. Preparing and positioning patients
  2. Explaining procedures to ensure their comfort
  3. Capturing high-quality images
  4. Performing a variety of technical procedures by applying principles of radiation protection and ALARA
  5. Assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required
  6. Reviewing the images for clarity and completeness, making adjustments as needed
  7. Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols
  8. Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  9. Accurate documentation of patient information and imaging details
  10. Collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and support diagnostic decisions
Education:

ARRT Certification is required, CT registry preferred.

Illinois State IEMA Certification required within six months of hire.

Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Experience:

New grads accepted. Two years’ experience as a staff technologist is preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

ARRT certification is required.

Illinois State IEMA certification required within six months of hire.
