Job Overview:
A CT/XR Technologist is responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners and Digital X-ray equipment to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes. Key duties include preparing and positioning patients, explaining procedures to ensure their comfort, and capturing high-quality images. Performs a variety of technical procedures by applying principles of radiation protection and ALARA that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. They must review the images for clarity and completeness, making adjustments as needed. Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols is essential, as is performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Accurate documentation of patient information and imaging details is crucial, and CT/XR Technologists collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and support diagnostic decisions.
