Job summary

Memorial Hospital's Fiscal Services department seeks an Assistant Controller to help direct accounting functions and uphold the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures. You will support budget preparation and the evaluation of financial reports.

You'll oversee payroll, assist with month-end and year-end closes, conduct financial analyses, support audits and cost report preparation, and contribute to the annual budget process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Controller in directing accounting functions and maintaining procedures.
• Prepares bi-weekly payroll and payroll tax reports.

Fiscal Services Full Time Days B.S. Degree in Accounting and/or Finance. 3 years plus experience preferred. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to respond to changing workload and work environment. Proficient in all Microsoft business applications a must.

As the Assistant Controller, you will assist the Controller in directing the accounting functions. These functions include helping establish and maintaining the organizations accounting principles, practices, and procedures. You would oversee the preparation and evaluations of budgets and other financial operating reports assigned. You must also be familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures and will be relied on to use your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish financial goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is not only encouraged but expected.
