Job summary

Rainbow Restoration of Columbia, Silver Spring, and Stevensville is seeking an IICRC-certified Water Restoration Technician to respond to emergency calls, assess moisture, perform extraction and drying, and monitor equipment. You will document work, maintain logs, and coordinate with project managers while upholding safety and customer care.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and tolerance for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Current IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is required.
• Previous hands-on water restoration experience preferred.
• Additional certifications (ASD, AMRT, FSRT, OCT) are a plus.
• Friendly, customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency water and fire damage calls with professionalism and urgency.
• Assess affected areas, take moisture readings, and document damage.
• Perform water extraction, selective demolition, and structural drying.
• Set up and monitor dehumidifiers, air movers, and air filtration equipment.
• Maintain accurate drying logs, job notes, and photographs.
• Coordinate with project managers and teammates to complete restoration per IICRC standards.
• Keep customers informed and treat homes and belongings with care.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites and equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training and emergency on-call rotation.
