Job summary

IHOP Kingston Pike is hiring line cooks to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, while upholding our quality standards and food safety guidelines.

We welcome enthusiastic beginners and provide training. Starting pay is $14 per hour, with weekends and holidays required, and opportunities for on‑the‑job training and advancement within a supportive team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that every meal that leaves our kitchen lives up to our standards of quality
• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, reporting any shortages or needs.
• Present yourself in a professional manner, including following all uniform guidelines
• Maintain the cleanliness of food prep areas at all times and follow food sanitation standards to the letter.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a line cook position or similar role within the food industry is preferred.
• Strong culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
• Familiarity with dietary department operations or dietary aide roles is beneficial.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food safety.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
• A passion for cooking and a desire to continually learn and improve culinary skills.
