Job summary

HistoWiz, Inc. in New York City seeks a highly motivated IHC Technician for the Day shift (8:30 am - 5:00 pm). You will support the histology team under the Director of Laboratory Operations, applying IHC skills to daily workloads.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a scientific field, strong communication, and familiarity with LIMS. Responsibilities include antibody staining, instrument maintenance, validations, and QC documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be available for 8:30 am - 5 pm shift M-F, with weekend availability as needed
• Thorough working knowledge of IHC staining procedures and Histochemical staining procedures
• Knowledge of routine Histology procedures and safety practices
• Experience with antibody and equipment validations
• HTL or QIHC licenses a plus
• Experience in biotech environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform routine antibody staining
• Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures
• Perform antibody and equipment validations
• Operate automated IHC stain and cover slipper(s)
• Troubleshoot quality issues
• Create and monitor essential documents through daily operation
• Exchange instrument-specific reagents at designated intervals
• Complete instrument QC documentation when applicable
• Maintain accurate work records (Maintenance Logs, Temperature Logs)
• Evaluate new equipment and procedures
• Review slides for quality of preparation such as staining intensity and artifacts
