Job summary

Cognify Global is seeking an experienced Ignition engineer to design, build, and support Ignition-based SCADA, HMI and MES solutions for industrial clients. The role is fully remote with occasional site visits for commissioning, travel and expenses covered.

You'll work on Ignition Perspective projects, integrate with PLCs via OPC UA/MQTT, write Python and SQL, and produce clear documentation while supporting projects from requirements through to commissioning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Ignition experience.
• Ignition Core certification preferred (Gold advantageous).
• Strong Python and SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Ignition Perspective and Vision projects, including screens, templates and UDTs.
• Configure tags, alarming, historians and reporting.
• Write Python (Jython) scripts and build SQL databases and queries.
• Integrate with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) via OPC UA and MQTT.
• Support FAT/SAT testing and commissioning.
• Produce clear documentation and provide post-go-live support.

I'm working with a well-established System Integrator that delivers industrial automation solutions across [industries, e.g. food & beverage, water, pharma, energy]. Because of continued growth, they're expanding their controls team and want an experienced Ignition engineer to join them on a fully remote basis.

The role

You'll design, build and support Ignition-based SCADA, HMI and MES solutions for a varied client base. You'll take projects from requirements through to commissioning. The work is mostly remote, with occasional site visits for commissioning (travel and expenses covered).

What you'll bring
