Job summary

Asphalt Green, Battery Park City campus in New York, seeks an IGNITE Group Exercise Instructor for part-time onsite work. You will lead small-group IGNITE classes, coach functional fitness movements, and ensure safe, engaging sessions using rowers, SkiErgs, barbells, and kettlebells.

The role requires strong coaching ability, clear communication, and the capacity to guide movements with effective cues, ensuring inclusive participation for all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching functional fitness movements in a group setting.
• Ability to coach bodybuilding, Olympic lifting, and powerlifting movements.
• Ability to coach movements with kettlebells, barbells, and rowers.
• Strong verbal communication and group coaching skills.
• Current nationally recognized fitness certification and CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging, and technically sound IGNITE classes.
• Coach Group IGNITE classes using dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, rowers, and SkiErgs.
• Demonstrate and coach proper technique on rowers and SkiErgs.
• Provide modifications and progressions based on participant ability.
• Maintain participant safety and class flow throughout sessions.
