Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assure IFRS financial statements and disclosures.
  • Manage IFRS inter-company reporting and reconciliations with US GAAP/Statutory.
  • Lead the IFRS close cycle including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Partner with global teams on IFRS plan and forecast submissions.
  • Resolve technical IFRS issues on new transactions and investments.
  • Support IFRS 17 implementation, ongoing compliance, and refinement.
  • Assist internal and external auditors and regulatory reporting requests.
  • Develop and review accounting team workload and quality control.
  • Drive process improvements across the IFRS close cycle.
  • Contribute to system implementations and reporting automation.

Job description

We have partnered with our client, who is seeking IFRS 17 Accounting Support to assist with accounting, reporting, and analysis activities related to IFRS 17 implementation and ongoing compliance. This role will support financial reporting processes, data validation, reconciliations, and collaboration with accounting, actuarial, and finance teams to ensure accurate IFRS 17 reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance accounting, financial reporting, and IFRS standards, with prior IFRS 17 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Own the preparation and quality assurance of IFRS financial statements and disclosures submitted, ensuring alignment with group accounting policy and reporting timelines
  • Manage the reporting of IFRS inter-company transactions and reconciliation between US GAAP/Statutory and IFRS results
  • Lead the accounting close cycle for IFRS reporting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Partner with global teams to maintain alignment on IFRS accounting treatment, Plan, and Forecast submissions
  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues related to new or complex transactions, treaties, and investment structures under IFRS
  • Support IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) implementation, ongoing compliance, and process refinement
  • Provide support to internal and external (Big Four) auditors and to regulatory reporting requests
  • Manage, develop, and review the work of a supporting accounting team; oversee workload distribution and quality control
  • Drive process improvement and control-framework enhancements across the IFRS close cycle
  • Contribute to special projects, including system implementations, M&A integration accounting, and reporting automation initiatives
