Job summary

Putnam County Schools in West Virginia is seeking a Referral Officer at Poca Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. This extracurricular assignment supports the IEPT process, Section 504 monitoring, and confidentiality compliance.

The qualified candidate must be a regularly employed professional educator at the school and will attend training sessions annually while providing required reports and due process forms as part of this role. Starting Date: Immediately.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must be a regularly employed professional educator at the school.

Responsibilities

• Provide due process forms to appropriate personnel as requested.
• Complete and submit required reports to the county office of exceptional education, including hearing and vision referral forms, transfer reports, Teacher Evaluation Report, and Parent Information Report.
• Track referral from intervention to IEPT decision.
• Monitor annual review of each exceptional student’s IEP.
• Monitor Section 504 students.
• Notify staff, parents/guardians and other personnel of Eligibility Committee (EC) meetings.
• Ensure confidentiality procedures are followed.
• Attend a minimum of two relevant training sessions annually.
