Job summary

Hill 35 is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher in Texas to provide learning activities and experiences designed to help students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.

You will develop or modify curricula, prepare lessons aligned with IEP goals, participate in ARD Committee meetings, and collaborate with families and staff to support student success in self-contained, team, or itinerant settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred.
• Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment.
• At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEP through ARD process for each student assigned.
• Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies reflecting understanding of students' learning styles and needs.
• Modify regular curricula as needed and assist special education students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Utilize technology in the teaching/learning process.
