Job summary

Aiken County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction to students with disabilities within our Assigned School setting. You will plan individual and small-group sessions aligned to IEP goals, monitor progress, and collaborate with parents, staff, and service providers to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education.
• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education area.

Responsibilities

• Teaches using evidence-based curriculum through an evidence-based instructional model.
• Plans and prepares for individual and small group instruction using data and IEP goals to drive groupings.
• Creates a classroom culture that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students by building rapport with students, parents, service providers, and other teachers.
• Analyzes data including screening instruments, evaluation results, and observation records to develop an appropriate IEP for identified students with disabilities.
• Writes, prepares, and leads IEP meetings for students with professionalism and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintains accurate records and prepares progress reports.
