Job summary

Lamar Consolidated ISD is seeking a Special Education Assessment Coordinator for 2026-2027 to provide campus leadership in special education programs. You will ensure IEP alignment and regulatory compliance, work with staff to deliver quality services, and oversee documentation and evaluation processes district-wide.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent licensure.
• Educational diagnostician, school psychologist, or speech-language pathologist licensure required.
• Three years of experience in Special Education.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record that meets the district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor special education services and provide program recommendations for students with special needs.
• Be fluent in all LCISD special education programming options and provide guidance regarding required data.
• Assist in maintaining records for audit purposes.
• Assist in planning, implementation, and program evaluation of special education services in all settings.
• Assist with development and monitoring of IEPs to promote alignment of instruction and program activities with IEP goals.
• Oversee IEP progress reports completion and archiving in SuccessEd and sharing with parents.
• Provide input for identification, review, and analysis of resource and equipment needs.
• Coordinate referral and evaluation process for individuals with disability or suspected disability.
• Prepare multidisciplinary evaluation reports.
• Present multi-disciplinary assessment results to staff and parents.
• Coordinate and participate on the Referral Review Committee.
• Respond to parent requests for Special Education evaluations.
• Maintain inventory of SERS materials and ensure return of all student materials.
• Disseminate information to staff and professionals.
