ACCEL Schools is seeking a qualified Intervention Specialist for Columbus Bilingual West in Columbus, Ohio, serving EK-6th grade with daily Spanish instruction and a language-rich culture.

The role focuses on educational and behavioral goals, including IEPs, diagnostic assessments, and collaboration with teachers to support growth, equity, and student achievement in a diverse setting.

Qualifications

• State license current and valid.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI and state background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities.
• Assist in intervention strategies and modify general education curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Work toward student achievement and culture goals and state targets.
• Use evidence-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities like field trips.
