Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is seeking an allied health professional with a Pharm D. to perform pharmacist functions related to investigational drugs and clinical research, reporting to the Pharmacy supervisor and Pharmacy Research Manager.

You will conduct protocol-related duties, dispense medications, and support compliance while overseeing staff. The role requires travel to multiple UCLA Health sites, with varied shifts and an hourly salary range.

Qualifications

  • Pharm D. degree and CA Pharmacy license.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials and investigational drug services.
  • Understanding of good clinical practice and human subjects protection.
  • Oncology knowledge and Board Certification preferred.
  • Experience with IV medication compounding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct protocol-related duties including study set-up, drug dispensation, study monitoring, close-out activities
  • Perform medication dispensing activities to deliver patient care
  • Support the Pharmacy Supervisor in ensuring compliance with rules, policies and regulations
  • Oversee support staff
  • Foster professional, collaborative relationships with pharmacy staff, medical professionals, support, and administrative staff
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Adapt to the challenges of a rapidly changing health care environment

Reporting to the Pharmacy supervisor and Pharmacy Research Manager, you will perform various pharmacist functions pertaining to investigational drugs and clinical research. Some of these functions include:

  • Conduct all protocol-related duties including: study set-up, drug dispensation, study monitoring, close-out activities
  • Perform medication dispensing activities to deliver outstanding patient care
  • Support the Pharmacy Supervisor in ensuring compliance to rules, policies and regulations
  • Oversee support staff

Schedule: Varied shifts, depending on department needs (Monday-Friday). Required to have the ability to travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health

Hourly Salary Range: $95.61-$112.00

Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE

Qualifications

We're seeking a dedicated, independent clinical leader with:

  • Pharm D. degree and current CA Pharmacy license
  • Strong communication, organizational, prioritizing, and follow-through skills
  • Knowledge of clinical trials and investigational drug services
  • Knowledge of good clinical practice and human subjects protection
  • Knowledge in oncology and/or Board Certification preferred
  • Experience in IV Medication Compounding preferred
  • Required to have the ability to travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health
