Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Identity team in Seattle. You will design, build, and operate distributed systems for authentication and authorization at scale, addressing security, reliability, and customer experience for AWS customers.

You will design and implement core identity infrastructure components, develop scalable services, and contribute to architecture decisions while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field completed.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as C++, Java, C#, or Perl.
• Strong object-oriented design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core identity infrastructure components including APIs and deployment orchestration.
• Develop scalable, highly available services processing millions of requests per second.
• Create monitoring and operational tooling for reliability and incident response.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for session management, identity, permissions, and cross-account access.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering excellence through reviews and best practices.
