Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and deliver scalable authentication and session services within Salesforce Core. You will work on OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, PKCE, and related security features while maintaining high availability and low latency in a hybrid team.

Qualifications

• Requires related technical degree and strong Java/OO design
• Experience with large, multi-tenant codebases is a plus
• Proven ability to mentor others and review security-focused work
• Solid understanding of authentication/authorization, tokens, and cryptography

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver scalable authentication services
• Build and evolve standards-based identity protocols (OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML)
• Harden sessions and credentials against threats and ensure secure cookie design
• Threat-model new features and fix findings from tests and reviews
• Roll out security enforcement with feature flags and backward compatibility
• Master development processes and improve code quality
• Mentor colleagues in secure coding and engineering practices
• Present designs and review others' designs
• Develop test strategies and automation for authentication paths
• Participate in on-call rotation to handle outages and incidents
• Work on AI-driven development tools to deliver secure, high-quality code
• Design systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows
• Contribute to the shared system context and standards
