As an Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 1 for DDS, you will help make everyday life possible for thousands of State of Georgia residents. The successful candidate in this role can make a positive impact on the lives of their customers whether it’s issuing learner's permit to teens, welcoming newcomers by converting out-of-state licenses, awarding driver licenses to first-time drivers by administering examinations or issuing identity cards in compliance with state laws and regulations. The focus of this position is working with and through others within established guidelines. The ability to interact comfortably with a diverse population is important. The successful candidate in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in helping others. Patience and attention to detail is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, accurately and efficiently. High-volume centers cater to a larger customer base and consequently experience higher frequencies of incidents such as dealing with irate customers, slip and falls, road test crashes, sick customers, etc. May serve as team lead to lower-level staff.
DDS believes in internal mobility and career advancement opportunities for our employees with satisfactory performance to transition from Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 1 to Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 2 with an increase of 10%. Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 1 After 12 months of employment $1600 After 18 months of employment (promotion to Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 2) $1600 Major Service Area (MSA) DDS Customer Service Centers with a high volume of transactions (minimum of 40,000 annually) are considered MSA Centers. The agency will conduct an MSA Assessment every twenty-four months to determine if CSCs need to be added or removed from the MSA Category. The Team Members assigned to an MSA Center receive a $3,500 supplement. The following conditions apply to Identity and Driver Credential Specialists hired after July 1, 2026, which will result in loss of the $3,500 supplement: transfer from an MSA Center to a non-MSA Center transfer to Headquarters CSC is removed from the MSA Category.
