As an Identity and Driver Credential Specialists 1 for DDS, you will help make everyday life possible for thousands of State of Georgia residents. The successful candidate in this role can make a positive impact on the lives of their customers whether it’s issuing learner’s permit to teens, welcoming newcomers by converting out-of-state licenses, awarding driver licenses to first-time drivers by administering examinations or issuing identity cards in compliance with state laws and regulations. The focus of this position is working with and through others within established guidelines. The ability to interact comfortably with a diverse population is important. The successful candidate in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in helping others. Patience and attention to detail is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, accurately and efficiently. High-volume centers cater to a larger customer base and consequently experience higher frequencies of incidents such as dealing with irate customers, slip and falls, road test crashes, sick customers, etc. May serve as team lead to lower-level staff.

After 12 months of employment

After 18 months of employment (promotion to Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 2)

DDS Customer Service Centers with a high volume of transactions (minimum of 40,000 annually) are considered MSA Centers. The agency will conduct an MSA Assessment every twenty-four months to determine if CSCs need to be added or removed from the MSA Category. The Team Members assigned to an MSA Center receive a $3,500 supplement.
Must be eighteen (18) years of age
Completion of a high school diploma or GED is required
A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent License is required and must be maintained while employed in this position.
At least one (1) year of Face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years
At least one (1) year of Face-to-face experience with cash transactions including handling cash, daily reconciliation, and processing credit card payments within the last five years.
Comfortable working with computer and internet technology.
Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification above, also possess two or more of the following:
Road skills tests are conducted throughout the year in a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, summer heat and cold winter days. Testing begins in the early morning hours and continues through the early evening hours. The test runs approximately 30 minutes. Walking distances, standing, very little sitting, constantly moving, good vision and hearing, climbing in trucks, bending, squatting, lifting, reaching, turning, riding in cars and trucks, driving cars and trucks, constant interaction with the public and co-workers are prerequisites.
