Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking a senior platform engineer to own authentication, authorization, and identity systems across our product line. You will drive design, rollout, and operation of high-traffic IAM services that powerClaude and related offerings.

You should have 8+ years building backend/platform systems, with hands-on experience in OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SAML, JWTs, RBAC, and policy engines. Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript across a rapidly evolving codebase is desirable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend/platform experience at scale, especially identity, auth, or security infra.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWTs; policy engines such as Cedar or OPA; RBAC.
• Security-minded with on-call readiness and reliability considerations.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own high-traffic backend/auth systems end to end from design through rollout and operation.
• Shape technical direction for identity and access across Anthropic products.
• Work with product, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure low-latency, secure IAM.
• Drive enterprise integrations and multi-region resilience.
