Job summary

Union Elementary School District in Tolleson, AZ seeks an IDEA Compliance Coach / Resource Teacher to support students with IEPs and to coach staff on IDEA compliance, IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective instructional practices.

The role combines direct service with coaching, coordinating with general education staff, families, and service providers to ensure compliant, high-quality education for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Special education classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Mentoring or instructional coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction to students based on their IEPs.
• Manage an assigned special education caseload with compliant IEPs.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain required documentation.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, related service providers, and staff.
• Coach and support teachers with IEP development, progress monitoring, compliance.
• Model effective special education instructional strategies and guidance on accommodations, modifications, and SDAI.
• Support district procedures and timelines for special education.
• Assist with alternate assessment planning and implementation.
• Provide professional learning and individualized coaching based on staff needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
