Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking an IEP Compliance Assistant to monitor IEP paperwork for placement options of Special Education students district-wide. You will work closely with student case managers, school psychologists, related service providers and assistant directors to ensure IDEA documents are submitted and compliant.

You will maintain databases that help determine authorization for exceptional education funding and serve as a resource for district staff on compliance issues.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Social Services, Education, or a related field and one year of experience in general office procedures OR Three years of experience in a general office setting
• Strong computer skills required, to include Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, etc.) or similar database management, word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective problem solving skills and working in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Basic math skills

Responsibilities

• Monitors IEP paperwork for placement options of Special Education students throughout the district.
• Works closely with student case managers, school psychologists, related service providers and assistant directors.
• Ensures IDEA legal documents are submitted and comply with state and federal requirements.
• Maintains databases that help determine authorization for exceptional education funding.
• Acts as a resource for district staff regarding exceptional education compliance issues.
