Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking an IDD Vocational Instructor in New Jersey. The role focuses on administering time and performance, implementing training programs, and supervising staff as needed, with supervision from the Vocational Program Manager.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with the target population, and a valid driver’s license. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, and ASL is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify performance measurement workstations per Department of Labor standards.
  • Oversee quality of contract products and services.
  • Promote a safe, clean, neat and healthy workplace for clients and staff.
  • Implement and monitor formal training programs for people supported.
  • Document progress and maintain records of production quantity and quality.
  • Supervise pre-employment interviews, training, and performance of team members.

Relies on supervision and direction from the Vocational Program Manager to accomplish tasks.Role may include supervisory aspects which may vary from no supervision requirements to supervising up to two direct reports. Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: Requires a high school diploma or GED and experience with the population supported.Pay: $16.91 an hourHours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM primarily Monday - Friday, may require a change in scheduled hours as needed according to activities and outings that may occur at night or weekendsJob ResponsibilitiesIdentifying and establishing performance measurement workstations with Department of Labor Standard; overseeing quality of contract product and/or servicesPaying particular attention to the environment as a means to promote a safe, clean, neat and healthy workplace for both people supported and employees; ensuring clean, orderly & attractive work and storage areas at all timesImplementing and monitoring formal people supported training programs within the workshop/classrooms, ensuring clients are exposed to the people supported handbookPerforming actual time and cost of product studies to determine rate of pay for piece or hourly work, assisting with community wage surveysObtaining and inventorying raw materials, needed supplies and materials for performing contract work for finished products, designing/constructing various jobs to facilitate workDocumenting progress of work and maintaining related records to verify production quantity and qualityDocumenting client start and stop times, daily work schedules, rate of pay, re-verification of PM station every 6 months, documenting incident reportsAssisting in the procurement of community job contracts by visiting job sites, conducting job surveys, developing criteria for people supported involvement and serving as liaison between the vocational center and community/business representativesSupervisory responsibilities include pre-employment interviewing, employee training, planning, assigning, and directing work, motivating, disciplining and promoting team performanceRequirementHigh School degree or GED required; Associate degree preferred2 years’ experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesValid drivers’ license and automotive insuranceAbility to pass background check and drug screenCPR, first aid, NCI and/or role specific certification, a plusAmerican Sign Language (ASL) (preferred)Pre-employment screening:Complete criminal backgroundName checked in the registries.
