Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC seek s an IDD Program Manager to lead day habilitation programs, supervise Day Program Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals, and coordinate staffing and services. The role focuses on quality training, development, and regulatory compliance to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The position reports to the IDD Regional Operations Director and offers a salary of $55,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum five years progressive management experience with individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
  • CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to Day Program Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals.
  • Lead day habilitation programs and coordinate schedules, activities, and staff.
  • Manage budgets, analyze variances, and prepare corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with guardians, professionals, and staff to develop individualized instructional programs.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, training requirements, and state regulatory standards.

Plans, coordinates, and ensures consistency and quality of training, habilitation, and development programs for persons with disabilities. Supervises classroom and vocational activities by performing the following duties and by coordinating schedules/events of Direct Support employees, Vocational Instructors, etc. Relies on experience, knowledge, and judgment and to lead and direct the work of others. Rate of Pay: $55,000.00/Annual Salary REPORTS TO: IDD Regional Operations Director

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position supervises Day Program Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision to Day Program Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership in Day Habilitation programs, including advice, guidance, direction and authorization to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Provide fiscal management of the day programs including responsibility for implementing, maintaining, and evaluating budgets, analyzing budget variances, and developing explanation and/or corrective action plans.
  • Confers with guardians, Administrators, Qualified Professional, Habilitation Specialists, social worker, nursing, and others to develop individual instructional program for people supported.
  • Interfaces between day program/vocational center, community workers, and employees.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with County and State regulatory bodies, community organizations and relevant industry partners.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and state regulatory requirements are implemented and adhered to at the program level.
  • Motivate, lead, and mentor a high-performance team.
  • Recruit and retain required staff with strong emphasis on employee engagement.
  • Manage hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, promotion, and corrective action in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure compliance with team member training requirements.
  • Trains staff on day program procedures, modular day training, makes staff assignments, ensures adequate staffing; schedules lunches, breaks and orders supplies.
  • Stays informed of new developments, methods, and training techniques in the ID/DD field.
  • Understands, teaches and utilizes proper body mechanics while assisting with behavioral intervention techniques, dependent/independent transfers and positioning of people supported regardless of individual weight distribution.
  • Audit medication administration.
  • Required that the employee cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.
  • Be an active part of multidisciplinary team that supports therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with operations, clinical staff and co-workers to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as required and scheduled by unit management staff, Administrator or corporate managers.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in Human Services or related field or equivalent work experience. A minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities. CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus Must be qualified as a Habilitation Technician II (med certified) or eligible to be so designated at the first available training after accepting the position. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regularly required to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.
