Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring an IDD Teacher Assistant to support instructors and provide direct educational services to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health/substance use challenges. The role involves assisting with activities, following schedules, and documenting progress.

Payrate starts at $15.00 per hour, with responsibilities including data collection and daily care tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• A Valid North Carolina driver’s license may be required.

• Assure class schedules and other routines are followed. Assist in the development of activities for week-ends and holidays.
• Assist in basic care of individuals, including instruction in such skills.

To assist teacher and provide direct educational services to the service users of RHA Howell Care Centers, Inc. under the supervision of the Director of Professional Services/Program Director.

RHA is Looking for an IDD Teacher’s Assistant to Join our Team!!!!!

Payrate: $15.00

Job Responsibilities

• Assist teacher and Conduct activities that meet the needs of each individual (Integrative Activities).
• Assure class schedules and other routines are followed. Assist in the development of activities for week-ends and holidays.
• Assist in basic care of individuals, including instruction in such skills.
• Collect appropriate data as assigned. Record progress of individuals as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience

• High School diploma or G.E.D. with at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• A Valid North Carolina driver’s license may be required.

Pre-employment screening:

• Complete criminal background
• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
