RHA Health Services is hiring an IDD Habilitation Assistant for regular daytime hours in Tar River, NC. The role involves implementing and monitoring programs developed by therapists, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and ensuring staff proficiency in communication and interaction skills.

You will work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with requirements including a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• College training and/or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors programs and services developed by Occupational and/or Physical Therapists.
• Monitors equipment such as adaptive devices and wheelchairs to ensure proper use.
• Maintains staff competence in general communication services, including basic sign language and interaction skills.

Role Overview

Implements and/or monitors programs and services recommended and developed by Occupational and/or Physical Therapists. These services include direct services as well as monitoring of adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, etc. Monitors consistent program implementation and staff competence in generic communication services such as general sign language skills and interaction skills

Education and Experience

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year experience working with the population supported. College training and/or management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included: Regular required to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.

Driving Requirements

Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.

Pre‑employment Screening

(OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities) Drug testing Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements. Proof of employment history or references (if required)

Hours and Pay

Hours: 7A.M. - 3.30P.M. Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour Location: Tar River
