Job summary

NC State University’s Inclusive Postsecondary Education Program seeks a Personal Development Coordinator for students with IDD. You will provide teaching and individualized advising focused on wellness, independence, and personal development, working closely with students, peer coaches, and staff.

The role emphasizes person-centered planning, goal setting, and collaboration to help Elevate participants build confidence and pursue meaningful goals within the university experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of effective practices for teaching and supporting individuals with disabilities, including inclusive practices, person-centered planning, and self-determination, interpersonal communication, independent living, and career development strategies
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and university staff to support students in achieving their personal goals

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and individualized advising focused on physical and emotional wellness, personal development, and success throughout the university experience.
• Help students identify meaningful goals, develop strategies, and make informed decisions supporting their growth and self-determination.
