Job summary

The State of North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services, Caswell Developmental Center, is seeking a Social Worker (S) to provide social work services across three to four residential units serving adults with IDD.

The role leads admissions, transitions, discharges, and guardianship petitions, conducts annual psychosocial evaluations, and collaborates with guardians, families, and the Olmstead Specialist. Typical hours are 8 AM–5 PM, with some after-hours flexibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or Bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) with one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead responsibility for admissions, transitions, discharges, and guardianship petitions.
• Complete annual psychosocial evaluations for assigned caseloads.
• Promote communication between guardians/families and residential teams; work with Olmstead Specialist.
• Flexibility for after-hours admissions, visits, appointments, court hearings, and trainings.
